About Banned Books Week

You've probably heard of Banned Books Week before, but do you know what it's about and why we draw attention to it?

You may not give it much thought, but the freedom to read is an important one. Libraries around the country mark Banned Books Week each year to remind everyone of the importance of open access to information, and the dangers presented by censorship.

As always, we welcome your feedback! Do you know of a book that was challenged in your hometown? Is one of your favorite books among the list of banned or challenged titles? What do you think about banned books? Tell us about it in a comment below or on our Facebook page!
