You're invited: Explore eReaders Nov. 27

Wed, 11/21/2012 - 15:11 -- Kelly Bradish

Thinking about getting (or asking for) an eReader? Try before you buy on Tuesday, November 27!

Anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., stop by the Hupp Skylab (Library top floor) and browse several kinds of eReaders and tablets.

Librarians Toru and Kelly will be on hand to answer questions and point you to more info about the devices you're interested in.

Plus, you can find out how to borrow a basic eReader from the Library, and eBooks from the WVDELI!

This is an informal event, open to the entire campus community. We hope you can take a few minutes and join us!

Nov. 15: The Great American Smokeout

Wed, 11/14/2012 - 17:05 -- Kelly Bradish

Be a QuitterThe American Cancer Society is marking the 37th Great American Smokeout on November 15 by encouraging smokers to make a plan to quit, or to plan in advance and quit smoking that day.

Tobacco use remains the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the United States. However, more than 45 million Americans still smoke cigarettes. In the U.S. in 2010, there were also 13.2 million cigar smokers and 2.2 million tobacco pipe smokers.

For many smokers, quitting can be difficult. Help is available! Contact the West Virginia Quitline for tobacco cessation assistance at 1-877-966-8784.
