Overdrive, which powers the WVDELI, has added some enhancements to the hold system.
Previously, when you placed an item on hold, you would be notified by email when it was available. You would then have to check the item out manually.
Now, you can choose to automatically borrow the title when it becomes available. Instead of getting a hold notification email, you'll receive an email that your book has been checked out to you and is ready for download.
You also have the option to suspend a hold. If you make it to the top of the waiting list while your hold is suspended, the title will go to the next reader in line until your suspension period is over. This is helpful if you want to get on a longer waiting list, but won't have time in the near future to read that particular title if it becomes available.
