"Google maps can now tell you the exact distance between two points" The Verge, 2014,

Google maps now has a new feature that allows the user to measure the distance between two given points. Using this information one can do some simple math to see how long it would take to get to that destination. Unfortunately, Google maps has not yet measured out individual paths in small proximities. For example, here on campus Google has not mapped out distances between certain buildings, and this could be very important information.
