Falcons in the Night Sky

In support of Citizen Science Month, Ruth Ann Musick Library at Fairmont State University is hosting a community Star Party.

In addition to observing stars and the moon in the night sky through the use of telescopes, participants will learn about the NSF Globe at Night program, how to locate particular constellations, and will submit observational data about night sky brightness using Sky Quality Meters.

The event will be coordinated with and receive in-kind support and training from Josh Revels, a NASA Education Outreach Specialist and certified Globe trainer with a wealth of experience in citizen science projects. In preparation for the Star Party, Revels will provide a telescope training for event coordinators, which will prepare participants to check out telescope kits from the Fairmont State University Library.
