Osprey

One of the most underrated raptors, the osprey really is an eagle of the water, known to hunt and catch fairly significant sized fish. The tribes near the coast have stories that include the osprey. He is portrayed as a guardian or a “police” of birds. He is also seen as a warning of doom. The Nez Perce consider the “fish hawk” as a medicine bird, and to see him in a dream means that the person who sees it has been given power.
